We are always glad to see community members in the library! Community members are welcome to use the library whenever the library is open.

Computer/Wifi Use

Ask at the library's Reference Desk to be logged onto a library computer as a guest. Current students have priority; the library staff reserves the right to ask community users to come back another time if the library is busy.

Alumni and other community users may use the public wifi; log in as a guest at the bottom of the MVCC Public wifi login page.

Borrowing Materials

Apply in person for a community borrower card at either campus library. A current photo ID must be provided, along with proof of current address if the address on your ID is incorrect.

Community borrowers may have a total of five (5) items checked out at any one time.

Due to cost, we are not able to provide interlibrary loan service to community borrowers. You may request materials from either campus library, but we will not be able to provide materials we do not have on our shelves. To request materials from other libraries, work with your local public library. For most people in our region, your local library is a branch of the Mid-York Public Library System.

The following borrowing limits, based on format, apply to ALL borrowers:

Feature film DVDs - 4

Educational DVDs - 4

Books on CD - 4

Bestsellers - 2

Multicultural Collection - 2

Database Access

Community users may access the library's research databases while inside the library. Due to licensing rules, we are only able to offer off-campus database access to current MVCC students and employees.

See the Library Policies webpage for all borrowing policies and loan periods.
