  1. Download Microsoft’s Lens app from your phone’s app store.

  1. Sign in to the app using your MVCC email address and password.

  1. Choose what type of file you want to save your scan as at the bottom (default is document, which works well for most assignments and paperwork).

  1. Position your phone over the document so that the document completely fills the frame and press the white circle button on the screen to capture.

  1. If needed, adjust the white lines bordering the document so that the whole document and nothing else is within them. Then press Confirm.

  1. If your document has multiple pages, click Add to scan additional pages. When you have scanned all pages, click Done.

  1. Choose a title for the document, ex. EN 101 Persuasive Essay, and where to save it. PDF works well for items you plan to upload to Brightspace or email to someone.

  1. If you chose PDF, on the next screen choose whether to save the file to your phone or to OneDrive. Saving it to OneDrive allows you to access the file on any device and can help you keep your coursework organized in one place. Remember what you called the file and where you saved it.

  1.  If you are submitting the file as an assignment, click the Upload button in the Brightspace assignment and browse to find the file where you saved it. After it uploads, click the submit button to turn in the assignment.
