According to MLA Style Guide, underneath the photograph "should be labeled Figure (usually abbreviated Fig.), assigned an Arabic numeral, and give a caption: 'Fig. 1 Mary Cassatt, Mother and Child, Wichita Museum, Wichita'" (118).
